Enrichment Gathering Invitation
Dearest Saint George Friends,

It is a blessed and joyful time at Saint George!

Since the opening of our beautiful new sanctuary and children’s/youth space, we find ourselves abundantly blessed with faithful new members of all ages; a loving and vibrant community where all are welcome; expanded space for reverent worship and faith formation and inviting grounds and a refreshed labyrinth that helps us to connect with nature and our Creator.

Our Rooted in Faith, Growing to Serve Capital Campaign was launched September 8th when Bonnie introduced the campaign team at the worship services. Now, it is my pleasure to share with you more information about the campaign and opportunities for you to be involved.

-
Capital Campaign and Annual Stewardship.
The capital campaign funds repayment of our new church building loan and will run together with our annual stewardship campaign which funds St. George’s ministry and operating budget.

-
Capital Campaign & Stewardship Goals.
We are blessed with the generosity of members enabling us to pay all but a quarter of the construction expenses of our new church building. Only $1 million plus interest remains. The quicker we pay off this obligation, the more quickly we can focus our resources and energies on the ministry priorities in our 5-year ministry vision. Our cornerstone goal is $500,000 which enables us to meet our loan obligation for the 3 years ending 2027 as well as a portion of the future amounts owed in 2028 – 2031. Our dream goal is to raise $1 million to pay off the loan and shift our energies and funding to ministry needs in our strategic plan.

The initial estimated operating budget is $320,000 - $325,000 and will be finalized once needed information is received from the diocese. The operating budget covers expenses including clergy and lay staff salaries; church insurance and maintenance; worship/music/office supplies; various ministries and outreach; and our diocesan assessment.

-
Enrichment Gatherings.
Members are invited to attend Enrichment Gatherings hosted through late October.

The purpose of the gatherings is to connect in smaller groups to grow in love and relationship with each other and to discuss how we envision growing as the body of Christ at Saint George. Please note these gatherings are informational only.

-
The enrichment gathering will last about 2 hours and will be hosted either at the church or in a member’s home. Home gatherings will host about 10 participants so that there is an opportunity to deepen relationships with each other whilst also sharing thoughts on Saint George plans.
-
At each gathering, there will be light refreshments and an opportunity for fellowship followed by a brief presentation, discussion and Q&A, and distribution of the capital campaign and stewardship packets. Please note these gatherings are informational only and provide members with the information and documents needed to prayerfully consider their support.

Prayers for the Rooted in Faith, Growing to Serve Campaign
Please join Mother Bonnie and Mother Myra in praying for the Capital Campaign each week with this brief litany.
A Litany for the Rooted in Faith, Growing to Serve Campaign
Gracious Creator God, we give thanks for your love that creates, redeems and sanctifies us as your body in this world.
We especially thank you for the gift of each of these past 57 years as the community of Saint George Episcopal Church, Maple Valley: for our triumphs, trials and shared memories that have led us into community and communion with you and each other.
We remember and celebrate your faithfulness, O Lord.
As we set our faces and fix our hearts for the next 57 years, we recognize that our work is not yet done.
Therefore, we ask you to make fruitful our Rooted in Faith, Growing to Serve Capital Campaign in these ways:
Give us generous and compassionate hearts to commit fully to this holy work and to keep your Kingdom dream at the center of our vision for this parish.
Help us to be a tender-hearted people, O Lord.
Infuse us with the light of your love so that we will pull together in confidence, courage and hope, bound ever closer as disciples who model our lives after your example of self-giving love.
Bind our hearts selflessly to You, O Lord.
Empower within us your Holy Spirit so we may be advocates and witnesses of your Gospel especially to those who stand in most need among us.
Revive in us a hunger for justice and mercy, O Lord.
Stir in us a desire to contribute to a creative and faithful legacy for those who will come after us in the communion of saints.
Restore in us a steadfast spirit, O Lord.
Teach us to trust your provision in all that we do, taking away our fear of scarcity or inadequacy so that we may be truly open hearing the ideas and needs of our donors and recipients.
Give us bold dreams, O Lord.
Guide us to a humble and responsible stewardship, honoring each gift given as an outward sign of your grace, trusting you to make more of our offerings than we could ever imagine.
Sanctify us as your servants, O Lord.
As we go forward, bless this Capital Campaign to be a blessing to others. Give strength and insight to our Capital Campaign Team. May our words and deeds lead others to a relationship with you, and bring honor and glory to your Holy name.
Of all we ask, of all we long for, we do so in the hope and promise of Christ our Lord. Amen.
